Description from the owner
I bought this boat with my father 15 years ago. It was our second boat together.
Today, it belongs to me, as my father is now a little too old to fully enjoy sailing.
My Super Challenger MK3 is an iconic racing sailboat from the 1970s. Renowned for its speed and seaworthiness, this legendary design won numerous regattas and remains a favorite among sailing enthusiasts.
I've been sailing solo and with friends since I was 18 years old, and it has become a true passion.
I mostly use the boat during the summer, taking friends out to explore the coastline, dropping anchor in the little hidden paradises we discover along the way.
I've even sailed all the way to Corsica to enjoy the breathtaking shores of the "Island of Beauty"!
One of the things I enjoy most is introducing people to life on board and sharing my love of sailing with friends and guests alike.
When I'm not away on longer cruises lasting several days or weeks, you'll usually find me around Les Embiez, my home port throughout the year.
A typical day around Les Embiez, Sanary, Bandol, or Cap Sicié goes something like this: I start by visiting the Sanary market in the morning, pick up fresh local ingredients, then head out to a beautiful anchorage where we can enjoy a delicious meal prepared by yours truly.
If the weather allows, we can also raise the sails and enjoy some sailing — entirely up to you.
Then comes the best part: swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, relaxing, playing cards, taking a nap, enjoying an aperitif, and watching the sunset over the Mediterranean.
As evening arrives, we face a delightful dilemma: either return to Les Embiez, enjoy a shower, have dinner at a local restaurant, and perhaps play a few rounds of pétanque... or stay at anchor, enjoy the peace of the sea, and sleep under the stars, gently rocked by the motion of the boat.
If you'd like to book several days aboard, we can plan an itinerary together according to the weather and explore the coastline from cove to cove, discovering beautiful anchorages along the way.
Your skipper:
I have over 20 years of sailing experience, although I do not work professionally in the maritime industry. My profession is music.
I am a professional guitarist and singer-songwriter. If you're curious, you can find me on social media: @matteo_michelino
I also offer full-day trips (10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and half-day sunset cruises (6–7 hours). In both cases, a private acoustic guitar-and-vocals concert is included, along with either lunch or dinner featuring homemade Italian cuisine (yes, I'm the Italian guy! 😊). Ask me and i'll send you the links for the full-day and half-day trips.
Looking forward to welcoming you aboard! Matteo
