Description du propriétaire
Le propriétaire a rédigé cette description en anglais.
Let one of our 2026 German clients who rented our boat for the first time but had been renting so many bareboats all over the world for years, Herr Meissner describe our boat Bonbon and our company openly and in details (translated from German):
BONBON? Très bon!
Bodrum. Gulf of Gökova. Late September 2026 Every charter skipper knows the feelings that swirl around before a trip, wondering whether they have chosen the right charter company and the right boat. The overall verdict upfront: YES!
The OWNER turned out to be not only extremely nice and communicative but also supported us with an eight-page itinerary suggestion for our planned sailing area.
Sailing Yacht BONBON, a Jeanneau 44. The boat was equipped and detailed by the owner with a lot of love:
The fenders are covered in fabric and branded with the boat's logo, a thick blue bonbon (candy). This is also found on duvets, towels, etc. The cockpit is equipped with fluffy seat cushions and backrests, the cabins have good, thick mattresses (including two for sunbathing on deck), a fan, and USB ports to charge mobile phones etc. For newer devices, there is a socket at the skipper's desk (with an extension cord and power strip) that is available 24/7—thanks to an inverter, even while sailing and anchoring!
The galley leaves nothing to be desired. There is a "normal" refrigerator (not a top-loader) and a large freezer compartment, and you can even find ice cube makers—as well as spices, oil, dish soap, and a scrub sponge. Only dish towels were missing. Glasses, mugs, plates, and cups feature a maritime decor and have a rubber rim on the bottom. Further amenities and the true class of the boat reveal themselves underway:
The engine is reliable and quiet: 1800 rpm gives about 5 knots. Hoisting and furling the in-mast furling mainsail and furling genoa are completely problem-free and effortless thanks to the electric winch (with a snatch block).
When furling the mainsail, it is essential to work with slight counter-tension (yellow line) so that the cloth wraps tightly enough inside the mast. Good sailors know that you also don't let the genoa run out uncontrolled when hoisting it, in order to avoid unwanted rotational forces and damage (slight counter-tension with the blue line).
All sheets are easy to operate from the helm station (single-handed sailing!). An autopilot is, of course, available. You would only have to go forward to the mast to ease the topping lift. However, even with the boom not perfectly horizontal (bimini top!), the sail sets well; the leech does not flutter.
With a beam wind (offshore, no waves), 4 Bft., and full canvas, we had some real fun: a proper heel, the wake was rushing; and out of sheer excitement, none of us looked at the log for the speed—but the towed dinghy started planing immediately. Here, the excellent sailing characteristics of the BONBON became evident—even close-hauled: the sails are very well balanced (neither weather nor lee helm); the boat is easy to steer.
Further amenities while anchoring: In addition to a depth sounder, the yacht has a display showing the length of the deployed anchor chain—a brilliant combination! Plus a 50-meter long shore line—and you lie perfectly and securely (backed up by an anchor alarm app). Being all alone in a sufficiently large bay, we also let the boat swing freely once at 2 Bft.
For extra fun, there is a SUP and a dinghy equipped with an electric motor (!). The fin for the SUP was found in the packing bag for the second SUP (bow locker behind the anchor chain locker). Mounting the electric motor is easier than a gas outboard because it consists of two parts: the mounting bracket and the battery. The performance was surprisingly good and allowed for a brisk pace. Tip: When launching and retrieving the dinghy, absolutely use the gray line (gennaker halyard?) and the electric winch; you can focus entirely on guiding the dinghy, which protects both the dinghy and the guardrail.
Bonbon? Très bon!
